Taste of Home: Some photos from Croatia

Until life moves into a slower gear and I have a chance to sit down and write some posts about my recent trip home, to Croatia, here are a few food photos.

  3. Oh my goodness! Walnut strudel, walnut cake, kiflice, sarma! I’m dying here maninas! It all looks so beautiful and delicious. Lucky, lucky you. Did you get to eat all this? I’m sooo jealous. But. Good on you. Can’t wait for those recipes.

  6. Great food shots, love the savoury dishes, but my heart (and sweet tooth) is drawn to the strudel, the delightful biscuit with the coffee, and that cake… Feel free to let your mum post me red cross parcels!

  8. Everything looks so delicous. I ate risotto with cuttle fish for the first time in Rhodes, it was a shockingly black dish but very yummy once you got used to it. I will be visiting south of Croatia this summer (Bulgaria-Albania) and wonder what the similarities to Croatian cuisine will be.

    Oh That Walnut Roll! Exactly like my Mother-In-Law from Croatia made alot for us while she was with us on this Earth.

    She was always in her kitchen since she came over to Canada by herself by boat at 17 yrs. of age! in 1924.

    We enjoyed alot of these wonderful foods and I would love to make that Walnut Roll for my Croatian hubby and my children and grandchildren who love everything about Croatia!

    Can’t wait for the recipe! Thank You!
