Importance of Celebrations

IMG_3036

It’s my birthday today. Generally, I’m not very good with birthdays, my own birthdays. I often feel a little awkward, we could could even say I am – a little shy with birthdays. Nothing to do with age – yet – since I’m only 25. There seems to be something more to it. I’ve been thinking about it today, and decided that I want to do something to change this. I believe it’s important to celebrate good things that happen(-ed) to us, to stop the everyday routine, and take time to enjoy the good things in life. This doesn’t have to be a large party with huge numbers of people. It doesn’t even have to last for hours and hours. (Though I did that last year, and it was great fun!) It doesn’t even have to be on the day, there are no restrictions at all, but it’s important to make time for this to happen. All it takes is what matters to you as an individual, whether it’s the large and raucous party from few sentences ago, or a cosy dinner with some close friends, or simply a glass of some good wine by oneself. Personally, I prefer red, so now here is a little toast. I raise my glass to me, and to you.

Enjoy the evening.

  17. Thank you, girls, for your kind wishes! 😀

A friend took me out to a lovely fish restaurant for lunch (a real treat!), and my husband surprised me with some beautiful lilies (we both like lilies) and chocolates! Unfortunately, we didn’t have time for anything else, because it’s been a really busy week for both of us… oh well…
