Lemon chilies. I love them. Small, elegant and perfumed with lemon, but with a heat of their own.
RECIPE IDEA
We had them baked in foil with salmon, garlic and fresh coriander. Gorgeous.

I’ve never seen those before! The chili addict in me is already contemplating the possibility of smuggling a plant into California…

They look so sweet! Where did you find them? And are they very fiery?

Hi Everyone! Glad you like these! I certainly do! Yes, they are fiery, with a fresh, lemony flavour. And you won’t believe where I got them from – they’re actually grown locally! I picked them up at a farmer’s market.

They look pretty good, but Whole Foods (which take my food stamps) didn’t have any. I may try at the farmer market.

I have been growing and enjoying these for a number of years now. They are one of the tastiest and most versatile chiles, IMO. I’ve never seen them available in a store, so it’s nice to know they are starting to show up.
If you’d like to grow some yourself, ChilePlants.com sells them: http://www.chileplants.com/search.asp?ProductCode=CHIPEY&SizeID=&ChileForm=&SearchMode=simple&LengthID=&WidthID=&HeightID=&OrientationID=&FoliageID=&FleshID=&UseID=&Color=&Location=&Keyword=&HeatID=&TypeID=&CategoryID=1&SeasonID=&NewProduct=&Letter=P&SearchButton=Pressed

I grew these last summer here in central Oklahoma. They are fantastic!
Here’s another recipe idea: linguine pasta with lemon-roasted chicken and a lemon cream sauce with these lemon chilis mixed into the sauce and thin slices on top.
